Welded Materials

Our machines are able to weld aluminum to aluminum; as well as almost any ferrous, nickel, or cobalt base alloy stud onto any ferrous base surface or vice versa. They are also capable of stud welding to new and aged castings, high carbon steels, and hardened materials. In certain cases even welding under water is possible. This was long considered as impossible, but SILICON machines now give you this option!

Studs with a diameter of 3 up to 25 mm have been welded successfully onto materials 0,85% Carbon materials such as railway lines.

Our new technology allows stud welding of Thru-Deck studs for floor decking applications to be carried out in wet and rainy conditions. The system has been tested up to a water depth of 75 mm.

Stud welding to high carbon steel is made possible by the 'hot plunge' feature of the machine. This feature minimizes the creation of pores by maintaining the weld pool at the highest possible temperature level before the stud and the base metal make contact.
